Merry Christmas!

Catching up...

We spent Thanksgiving in Dallas with my family and Evan enjoyed Grandma's sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie! I always enjoy my visits to Dallas and hate leaving to go back to Lubbock. When we were back in Lubbock, we took Evan to see Santa and he did really well!
Evan turned 10 months old on Dec. 5th. I cannot believe how big my once 5 lb baby boy is. He greets us in the morning with a big grin, hug and lots of big, wet kisses. A lot of the times during the day he gets so excited and grabs my face and kisses me. I know, I know...what a sweet boy!! He is getting very brave these days...and I have to watch him really closely. He pulls himself onto the furniture and lets go to take off running (he's doing really well learning to walk). A lot of head bumps have been happening :-/ He also has 2 more teeth coming in at the top. I feel very lucky that he is still sleeping 12 hours every night...makes me wonder what baby #2 is going to be like haha Oh yes, and Evan loves to stick out his tongue whenever he sees the camera!
We are spending Christmas in New Mexico to visit Jason's family and then going to Dallas for New Years. This will be my first Christmas away from my family...I know it's going to be hard but it will also be fun to watch Evan eat the wrapping paper (which he is already doing-and he's already opened a few presents that I've had to re-wrap). I can't think of anything else that has happened so I will post more after Christmas. Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!!

9 months old

Evan turned 9 months old on November 5th. We took him to his doctor appt. (just for a check-up) and he weighs 19 lbs 12 oz (45%) and is 28 inches long (50%). He is getting so big and I can already see his baby face changing into a little boy face. He wears some 9 months clothes but is mainly wearing 12 months clothes and wearing size 4 diapers! He loves to be around people and will reach out to anyone. We are definately not dealing with separation anxiety, which is great! We love our big boy!

ESPN College Game Day

College Game Day was here in Lubbock today at Tech. We woke up early and got there around 8. It was packed! It was also cold...48 outside. Evan was all bundled up. It was pretty neat to see all of it and take pictures.

Happy Halloween!

Evan wore his Tigger costume from Grandma Becker. We went to the mall and walked around so he could look at all the other kids dressed up. Everyone kept saying how cute he was and he was the only one wearing a Tigger costume.

Guess what?!?!?!

We just found out earlier this evening that we are pregnant AGAIN! We are so excited and can't wait for Evan to have a little brother or sister.

First word...

Evan said "Da-Da" last week when we were in Dallas visiting my family. Jason was in Ohio for work, so I had Evan say it over the phone for him. It's so cute to hear him talking! He mumbles a whole bunch of other "words" but says "da-da" all the time. In the car, when he's eating, when he wakes up from a nap I can hear him through the monitor saying it over and over.

He pulls himself up on furniture and walks along it. He's knocked his face quite a few times but nothing seems to stop him. Upstairs at my mom's there are 3 steps from my brothers room to my sisters and sure enough he was climbing up them! He can stand by himself sometimes. It's funny to watch him try and balance. We've been trying 3rd foods and he's doing really well.

And the best thing of all...he gives kisses!! If you say "kisses" while your holding him, he pauses and leans forward. It's so sweet and he will grab my neck and kiss my chin. He is such a sweet little boy!

8 months old!

Evan turned 8 months old this past Sunday. I can't believe in less than 4 months my lil' baby will be a year old! He has quite the personality. He's goofy, happy, determined, stubborn and loud. He makes this growling sound all the time and it's so loud. I guarantee every person in a store can hear him! He smiles the whole time he does it, it's hysterical. He has 2 teeth and crawls everywhere. He pulls himself up onto furniture and sometimes even lets go! He'll end up standing by himself for a few seconds and then falls down. He is a daredevil!! He is a very friendly baby, and reaches out to everyone. He loves to give people hugs and sometimes even gives kisses (which are so slobbery but cute haha).

First tooth!

Evan got his first tooth yesterday! It totally caught me off gaurd when he was playing with my finger and then bit me! Usually it's a soft bite but there was something sharp in there and sure enough a little pearly white had popped up through the gum. It's so cute and cool to think that soon enough every time he smiles he will have a mouth full of baby teeth. His mood hasn't changed at all. He is always happy and still sleeping 12 hours at night. He loves to crawl all around the house and pull himself up onto furniture. I love my sweet and happy little boy so much!!!

7 months old!

He sits up all the time and loves to look around at everything.

New accomplishments!

In the past week, Evan has learned how to crawl...

sit up...

AND pulled himself up to where he's standing in his crib!

Going down for a nap has become "play time." As soon as I lay him down in his crib, he crawls to the side and pulls himself up and starts babbling. He's such a goof ball. I had to lower the crib all the way down now but he can still pull himself up.

Doing a backbend...

Evan arches his back all the time. I'm afraid he's going to hurt his neck but we can't get him to stop. He's such a funny little guy.

Peek-A-Boo

We just put Evan to bed for the night. While I was putting some of his clothes away, I looked up to find him peeking over the side of the crib. All I could see were his two little eyes. It was so cute and we were cracking up!!!

1st pair of jeans!

SO, here is my little baby wearin his first pair of big boy jeans. Jason graduated from the University of New Mexico and was so excited to buy Evan his t-shirt. I couldn't believe how stinkin' cute this kid looks...my baby is getting so big!

Sleepy boy

I love taking pictures of Evan while he's sleeping. When he was first born, he would fall asleep with his head back and little mouth wide open.





Now he goes to sleep every night for 12 hours :) and sleeps on his tummy sucking his thumb.

This is what we do while mommy is getting ready. He loves to look at himself in any mirror. He'll laugh and smile at himself-it's hysterical! (Don't you just love his lil' bald spot on the back of his head? lol)
